Privacy Policy

Truxello IFTA ("we", "us") helps owner-operator truck drivers track mileage and fuel purchases, optimize where they buy fuel, and prepare quarterly IFTA reports. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information — your email address, name, and base jurisdiction, collected when you create an account.
Vehicle information — details you enter about your truck (year, make, model, fuel type, average MPG, tank capacity).
Mileage and fuel records — the trips, per-state miles, odometer readings, and fuel purchases you log, including station names and prices.
Receipt photos — images you choose to attach to fuel purchases. These are stored privately and are only accessible from your account.
Location (on demand only) — if you tap "detect my current state" or use the price map, we read your device location once, in the foreground, to identify your state or center the map. We never track your location in the background.
Push notification token — if you enable notifications, so we can deliver filing reminders and alerts.
Payment information — subscriptions are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe, Apple, or Google). We never receive or store your full card number.

How we use your information

To provide the service: computing tax paid, fuel-cost comparisons, savings estimates, and quarterly IFTA reports from the records you enter.
To send filing-deadline reminders and optional fuel-price alerts you have enabled.
To manage your subscription and billing.
To respond to support requests and keep the service secure and reliable.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Receipt photos are stored in a private bucket that blocks all public access; the app retrieves them only through short-lived, authenticated links.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf:

Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, and authentication.
Stripe, Apple, and Google — payment processing for subscriptions.
Expo — delivery of push notifications.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Retention and deletion

We keep your records for as long as your account is active. IFTA regulations require carriers to retain mileage and fuel records for at least four years, so we recommend exporting your reports before deleting data. You can delete individual trips, purchases, and receipts in the app at any time, or contact us to delete your entire account and all associated data.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing support@truxello.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA.

Children

Truxello IFTA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "effective date" above always reflects the current version.
